I was born and raised in El Dorado Hills, Ca. I am a wife and a Mama to a 6-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. My son’s birth fueled my desire to become a Doula and Birth Assistant. After having an extremely complicated pregnancy, I knew that working with babies and their Mamas (Dadas and partners, too) was exactly what I wanted to do. Working with babies and children is something I have wanted to explore since an incredibly young age. I graduated from college focused on dental care and an emphasis on pediatrics. Naturally, I have always been a caretaker of others, with a strong passion for ensuring a safe and supportive place for all families to lean on.
I am a DONA International trained and certified Birth Doula with additional education in breastfeeding and childbirth. I am a Certified Birth Assistant from the Northwest Birth Assistant Training Program. I work very closely with a fantastic Midwife, Rebekah, with Crown Midwifery. As your Doula and Birth Assistant, I will be your biggest cheerleader and support system. My role is to provide any non-medical comfort measures, support, and assistance to the midwife. This support may take the form of physical comfort measures such as helping you breathe through each contraction, gentle, soothing massage, counter pressure, assisting with water therapy, handholding, positional support, and recommendations that may help you through each stage of labor.
I chose to become a Doula and Birth Assistant for the sole purpose of being able to support other mothers in the beautiful process of bringing a child into this world. Through it all, I will be there for you. I will care for you and be a continuous source of comfort. Nothing is more important than knowing you are loved and supported. I have undoubtedly found my passion by experiencing your birth journey through my own eyes in the most authentic and rawest moments in your life. .
After an unpleasant hospital birth with my first, I spent months dreaming of becoming a doula. I had such a fire inside me to help other mom’s get the most out of their pregnancy and birth experience, but most of all, to guide them to follow their own intuition.
With my nursing baby in tow, I trained with Sierra Childbirth Institute and kicked off my doula journey. Since then, I’ve been having babies of my own, balancing motherhood, and attending home and hospital births. Holding space for women to carry out their birth wishes and helping guide them to follow what truly matters most to them is what drives me in this work. I believe birth is transformative for mothers and babies, a truly sacred event in life that deserves nothing but love and respect the whole way. Connection for me as a doula is extremely important and I don’t take the honor of being in your birth space lightly.
I’m a lover of all things holistic and could talk your ear off about natural remedies. In my personal time I love to work out, try new restaurants with my husband (we’re big foodies!), and bake all things sourdough. I love to garden but usually by August I’ve given up on all my plants!
Empowering you in your birth choices as you define them is always my goal when working together.
I can’t wait to meet you and walk alongside you!
